rennie Team Tuesday - Alice Ristak

Meet Alice Ristak, new member of our growing Advisor team.

What inspired you to join rennie?
A friend of mine who works at rennie has been persuading me to join the company. After walking into the rennie office for the first time, the positive and welcoming energy inspired me to think about how lonely the real estate business can be and how it'll be great to join rennie and work on projects with a wonderful group of people.

What got you into the real estate industry?
I grew up watching my dad's success in commercial real estate but I never thought of it as a suitable career for myself until I started purchasing and flipping my own properties. After a few years, the joy and excitement of the process made me become a licensed agent.

What do you most look forward to about coming into the rennie office?
Freshly baked cookies and the friendly and warm people.

What is the most rewarding part of the job?
The most rewarding part of the business is when clients refer me to their friends and sharing how grateful they are because they couldn't have found their dream home without my help. Also, receiving a pay cheque is pretty rewarding too!

What qualities do you most value in the people you surround yourself with?
Integrity and loyalty.

What's one thing most people don't know about you?
Most people don't know that I have great artistic talent.

How do you start your day?
My day starts with going to the gym at 6:00 am for an hour. Afterward, I take my little dog for a walk and feed him before I get ready for work.

What makes a home feel like a home?
A log cabin set in the snowy mountains... I'm wrapped up in a soft blanket on an over-sized plaid couch, sitting in front of a roaring fire, drinking the finest wine with my little dog next to me.

What's the most memorable place you have travelled to?
When I travelled to Belize, it was so sad to see how little they have and yet how happy they are.

What's the first spot you go to after coming home from a trip abroad?
I head straight to JJ Bean coffee shop for my favourite mocha. They know my order there and bring it out to me if I'm with my dog.

Tell us about your everyday essentials.

My dog Gigio is a Havanese Maltese with a great personality but can be quite a snob because I spoil him a lot. He is 6 years old now and has brought nothing but joy and happiness to my life. Gigio has also brought me more business than any expensive advertising I've done. I'd take Gigio for a walk around my neighbourhood three times a day where I'd run into the same people over and over again. Thanks to my little angel Gigio, I am now known in my neighbourhood and many of those relationships have resulted in a real estate transaction. I hope this will help other Advisors to consider buying a dog.

Thank you, Alice! Welcome to #teamrennie.
