We are pleased to present our Spring 2025 edition of the rennie landscape.
Uncertainty is the word of the year, or at least the word of the day, we're not sure. Navigating the current environment feels especially daunting when we don’t know what the environment will be tomorrow. It’s not all dark clouds though: yes the labour market is in worse shape than six months ago, but interest rates have come down meaningfully and Canadians have managed their debt loads well. Housing affordability has improved over the past year and rental housing supply here in Metro Vancouver is growing.
Focusing on Central Okanagan, this edition of the rennie landscape examines various facets of economic and demographic change, to provide clarity on the forces shaping our housing markets and and consider what the future may hold.
Twice a year, rennie intelligence produces the rennie landscape, which tracks a variety of demographic and economic indicators that directly and indirectly influence the housing markets of Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, and the Central Okanagan. Our goal is to provide our community with a basis for evaluating the trajectory of the factors that collectively define the context of the real estate market.
Our rennie intelligence division comprises our head economist, market analysts, and data scientists. Together, they empower individuals, organizations, and institutions with data-driven market insight and analysis. Experts in real estate dynamics, urban land economics, the macroeconomy, shifting demographics, and data science, their industry-leading data acquisition, analytical systems, and strategic research supports a comprehensive advisory service and forms the basis of frequent reports and public presentations, covering the Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Seattle, and Coachella Valley marketplaces. Their thoughtful and objective approach embodies the core values of rennie.

We are pleased to present our Spring 2025 edition of the Seattle rennie landscape. Just as it seemed we were beginning to emerge from a difficult period of economic anxiety, new tariff-induced uncertainties have appeared on the horizon. But there is plenty to be optimistic about, and these bright spots are worth holding on to. The labor market continues to show resilience, and a closer examination of our debt levels reveals welcome breathing room. Washington State is also bolstered by a dynamic local job market, and a growing population that continues to drive our region's economy forward.
