Check out some of the highlights from the recent 2016 Census release on housing. The most recent Census counts show that while the number of occupied private dwellings in the Lower Mainland grew by 7.7% between 2011 and 2016, the number of single-family dwellings FELL by 4.7%: of the region’s 25 major municipalities 20 saw declines in the number of single-family homes between 2011 and 2016. That said, ALL major municipalities in the region saw growth in multi-family dwellings, with the Township of Langley leading the way with a 39% increase.
