It was officially established in 1879 and was further developed as a transportation hub, being the intersection point of three railways. Mapping this with the rich agricultural land meant produce could be quickly distributed into Vancouver and the US, and secured the further development of the area.
Today the Cloverdale Town Centre has retained much of it's historic charm with local 5 pin bowling, classic theatre spaces and heritage building conservation. Along with this, added commercial areas offer easy access to shops and services to augment the unique offerings of the Town Centre.
Host to market days, the Cloverdale Rodeo, and a number of major outdoor events, it also offers locals some of the best ball parks in the City, a local arena, two public elementary schools, a popular highschool and post-secondary education with Kwantlen's Polytechnic University Technical campus.
The Cloverdale Libary, Museum of Surrey and the Surrey Archives help to round out and anchor many cultural events in the area.
Our family's favorite event continues to be the Annual Surrey Santa Parade of Lights, taking place in December, which sees trucks of all shapes and sizes decorated for the season take to the streets.
