Canada's population declined by 102,000 (0.2%) in 2025, the first recorded decline since Confederation in 1867. This was driven by a more than 460,000 net decline in non-permanent residents. Meanwhile, BC's population fell by 41,000 (0.7%).
Employment fell by more than 80,000 across Canada in February, bring the total loss through the first two months of the year to 109,000. This is equal to over half of all the jobs gained in 2025 (211,000).
There were 2,967 MLS sales across the Vancouver Region in March, down 3% year-over-year and 41% below the past 10-year monthly average.
